It Works Marketing Global History
Personally, I love the origins of It Works Global because it reminds me of how endless your possibilities can be if you just set your mind to something.
I also love the fact that a former teacher was able to make a solid living after leaving teaching and still support their family far more than they ever imagined.
I am a teacher. I need to leave teaching so that I can work at home.
So let’s get this started.

Mark, the teacher and coach, lived in a small town called Allegan Michigan. His wife, Cindy, was a stay a home mama who took care of their three babies.
Mark and Cindy took the plunge, like most of you reading this post (like me too), and joined a work at home opportunity biz that had something to do with telecommunications and probably lead generation.
They joined in 1998 and spent some time each week with a goal of $500 extra a month in mind.
Being the superior and most awesome humans that they are, they ended up surpassing their small goal of $500 of extra money each month and became financially free of debt by obtaining financial freedom.
And just like all the other awesome human beings out there that realize that sharing is caring and caring and giving gives back tenfold, they decided to help other families also find a way to be financially free.
In 2001, The Ultimate Body Applicator came along and Mark knew it was time to take It Works Global to the next level.
As an alternative to cosmetic surgery, The Ultimate Body Applicator by It Works was (and still is) a HUGE success.
One of Mark’s friends, Luis, was the guy who put the natural ingredients together to formulate the It Works! Products.

As a former science teacher, this kind of make me wonder if that’s really a wise idea. How is short cutting our way to superfoods with pills and shakes affecting our influence on natural selection? Hmmm.

In a world where health and beauty products sell sell sell, offering It works products in the form of it works supplements is very smart! (and apparently lucrative)

2009 came. The economy plummeted, people lost houses and jobs and they got scared.
You know what didn’t happen?

It’s crazy….kinda like the crazy wrap lady that is making millions off of selling It Works wrap living out of an RV and traveling the world.
It’s possible…I just read one of their stories. Not so fast though…let’s finish this history lesson on It works…
Anyone who joined ItWorks and worked hard to push the business in 2009 surely are millionaires if not billionaires by now. Wow. Imagine being a billionaire and making over 10K a month…or 10K a week from home

I can taste the Pina Colada’s and the summer sweat from sitting poolside now. Living a life by working on a computer sounds awesome to me. How about you?
Alas, It Works isn’t just a computer business. (more about that later)
So It works! Became debt free in 2009 while everyone else was dying to keep their homes, jobs and food in their mouths right?
Was it because they were buying It works products? Doubtful…but it’s fun to think of.
When the economy tanks and a business excels…that’s a sure sign of some fierce leaders and yes…you likely want to follow their lead.
But is it too late to become an It Works top earner?
Who knows…let’s look at that after the history lesson.
So, debt free in 2009 and then in 2010 this killa company expanded to a global market. Australia (I love Aussies!) and Europe, they continued to grow and grow and grow.
It was in 2010 that Mark said this: “We want to pour hope and goodness into people’s lives through our product solutions and the It works! Opportunity, and we continue to be honored tob e able to touch the lives of more and more people every year.”
Tell me you don’t want to just pick up the phone and become an It Works Distributor RIGHT NOW! I do.
No seriously…I’m fighting everything within me to not just go back to one of the successful It Works Distributors who is making thousands a week selling It Works Products and join like yesterday!
I don’t blame you if you do it. For $99 you join and put in some work (how much work?) and then you become a millionaire overnight right?
Not so fast.
Every millionaire you ever meet, failed first. And most of them failed several times over before they became a millionaire overnight.
But, that doesn’t mean that It Works is selling millionaires. They are actually kind of doing what OBAMA did to win the election.
It’s a very very powerful thing.
They are selling HOPE.
Hope is a very strong thing. I fall for it. I love hope. I hope that hope never goes away.
I love waking up and having hope of a brighter future every single day.
It’s what millionaires do to make money too. But they do more than just hope. They take action.
You know why I write so much?
Why I obsess so much over these mlm reviews?
Because I have high hopes.
I have hope that when I help you make money off of your mlm opportunities (like It Works Distribution or Beach Body or Advocare or whatever) that you have hope too.
And we hope about something, dream it, eat it, breathe it, obsess over it…..it’s more likely to happen than if we were to never hope at all.
HOPE is what dreams are made of.
And if I’m going to dream in this lifetime of mine, I’m going to DREAM BIG…and then I’m going to grind away at that dream every single day until that hope becomes a millionaire reality.
You can do it too.
But not so fast!
Let’s continue with the It Works! Global Review.
In 2011 they moved form Grand Rapids, Michigan to Bradenton Florida.
I can’t wait to move from Pittsburgh to a sunny beach and make a living in a huge RV or by traveling with my kids. Oh wait! Kids! Ahh! Ok…so I’ll settle for moving to someplace awesome and working poolside while my beautiful girls get to attend one the best schools in the area and I can show my mother that mlms are not scams or pyramid schemes (at least now all of them anyways).
There in Florida, they opened the Stoneybrook Golf Club of Bradenton and you know they have a spa there. There’s now way you own a body wrap, get skinny now type of business and you don’t offer body wraps in your new elite golf club in Florida.
Mark, the teacher, loves golf so he just made his own golf course. What a big dreamer! (My dream is to have an infinity pool and to have a deck attached to my house…and then maybe have an RV camper that has a permanent site somewhere near my mother who doesn’t believe in me right now….but she will see.)
IT WORKS made a smart move because now they own a place where they can have It Works conventions and corporate events with their ItWorks Distributors and never had to leave home to work!
It Works Global now has these large events called Green Carpet Days where they show the IT Works Distributors a good time in their own back yard!
Everything that Mark Pentecost and Cindy Pentecost are doing seems so legit and right in my little hippie minded world. (Speaking of rich hippies, I love the surfer hippie dude in the movie Big Hero 6 mainly because I’d love to be seen as the under the table millionaire. No one has a clue, I make real friends and then surprise them and treat them with my riches! It’s all good baby!)
I just love it!
Is it possible that ItWorks Products, which are only available as a first to market product (meaning you can’t buy It Works Products in stores) is the answer to my millionaire dreams?
They might be and I might just try to find out…but what about Beach Body. I have my neighbor, the beachbody coach, pulling me in that direction.
I have to find out what my mission is…and it can’t just be to make extra money at home.
It has to be something more service oriented.
Remember, you follow what the millionaires (more like billionaires) do and you imitate (but with your own twist) in order to achieve your dreams too.
Mark and Cindy Pentecost are servicers. Being a teacher, I know that Mark has a giving soul so it is not surprise to me that he is successful.
Now that I’m leaving teaching to build my own stay at home business, I still have the desire in me to share with others and to help educate people and help them ultimately achieve their dreams.
I always tell my students that you can do anything you put your mind too! Even if that something is to become a millionaire, you can do it if you follow the leaders and do what is right. (Hippie thoughts I know..but I’m destined to prove to you that it’s right)

In comes 2012. They aren’t just making millionaires anymore.

With a new slogan: “Debt Free is the New Sexy!” and focusing on helping the It Works Distributor discover Financial Freedom by selling It Works Products, the company grew over 690% over the course of three years.
WOW.
Just WoW!
Right?
If this doesn’t get your teamwork muscles working, I don’t know what does! I’ve always learned that teamwork matters and if you work in a team, you make more progress…i.e. working in a team will make you more money. Just look at the It Works Distributor success stories.
Share your rewards and double them. It Works Distributors are living proof that teamwork and making money goes hand in hand.
But where do I come in with all this?
Me?
I’m just your typical stay at home internet nerd. I obsess and frequent data and research the whazoo out of topics I talk about.

2014: Just last year. Just when you expect a company that has grown so fast to soon plummet, you know what the It works Distributor peeps did AGAIN?
They made more money.
Exponential Income baby!
It’s inasanity (not the BeachBody Insanity workout but pure Insanity) where It Works is going.
They reached $450 million in sales and they continue to create work at home opportunities for stay at home moms, stay at home dads, mompreneurs, fatherprenuers and on and on and on….and they even made their own type of entrepreneur that makes money at home: The Wrapreneur.
You know when you are making up your own money making terms like Wrapreneur AND being successful that you are kicking some major extra income making opportunity bootie.
No doubt that becoming an It Works wrapreneur is a very good idea.
You know what sounds even cooler than that? They aren’t just talking about buying you financial freedom, they also focus on getting you to supreme health.
Their website expresses that they want to help you with your health, appearance and lifestyle.
The cold hard truth about this world is that it does indeed take money to make things happen.
Happiness doesn’t necessarily buy money….BUT…I’ve seen it help a lot of people get rich and achieve their dreams and those dreams 9.9999 times out of 10 take money to make happen.
You have to spend money to get money.
You ever hear of that?
It’s true.
I’m living proof. (Someone please remind me to elaborate on this later because you know I’m dying to talk about spending money to make money to become a millionaire right?)
So, I’m going with right now…becoming an It Works Distributor is a great idea!

Really as an mlm review website, I shouldn’t have an opinion but I’m seriously considering this It Works Distributor gig.

This is literally an insanely low cost to start out a business and does make me question the validity of becoming an It Works distributor.

With It Works Global, they encourage house parties, just like Thirty One Bags, Party Lite, Tupperware etc.
These are those (in my mind) old lady get togethers with a bunch of people cackling like a bunch of chickens and you just sit there praying for some sales so you can at least make some money back on that bit party pack you just purchased.
Party Packs?
Yeah.
ItWorks shifts focus from just selling product to bringing on more It Works Distribution helpers (aka It works Distributors)
Personally, this is a turn off for me.
I can’t stand the fact of having a party in my home and trying to make money from it. I’d rather people go home and pass out in my bed after a party. But maybe I’m not thinking like a millionaire.
Maybe a millionaire thinks, “Man! I just had a sales presentation in my home, look how much money I made!”
I guess for me party and business don’t really mix well.
Eh. I don’t know.
Ok..Let’s talk about how else you can make money being an It Works Distributor:
It Works Distributor Incentives:

HEY! Wait a minute! Where’s the real money?

3. If you don’t want to spend all your money on the It Works $500 Party Booster pack, you can purchase the mini It Works Booster Party Pack for $149 and get $300 in Party Cash. Hmm. I wonder if you can buy the $500 booster pack with party cash money. Does Itworks accept their own currency?
4. It Works also guarantees you make money ($500 as a matter of a fact) if you get two other people in two months to also become It Works Sales People. (AKA It Works Distributors)
So, like the BeachBody mlm opportunity and other mlm companies, you are encouraged and rewarded for bringing on more mlm leads and direct sellers into your downline (see mlm vocabulary)
5. It Works Cruise Benefits:
Do I have to have It Works Parties to make It Works make extra money for me?
Eh. What?
You’re asking if you should follow It Works suggestions or the ItWorks Training on how to sell their product?
That’s silly.
Of course the answer is YES. (but it can be no.)
You SHOULD have It Works Parties like the It Works Training say to do, but not because it’s the only way to sell It works products (it’s not), it’s because through thousands and thousands of years, it has been proven time and time again that “in person” sales works.
You can sell online by not being online, but you have a greater chance of selling It works Products when you show your potential clients (mom, sister, neighbor), the value of the product up front. There’s a reason that “In person” It works Parties is a part of the It works training plan.

If you don’t throw the It works Samples out there and let people use them, you will likely get less sales than if you were to have one of those It Works Body Wrap Parties. (or It works Ultimate Body Applicator Wrap Parties…..I’m actually not sure which one It Works Global prefers)

Yup. Me! Right here!
4. Do you know people that love to be healthy or who are always talking about getting healthier?
If I didn’t, I would questions if I was even living.

I just realized that you probably want to see some of the actual stats and data that I could dig up on IT Works distributor benefits and the kind of money (documented) that you can make from the It Works compensation plan.
When you go to the It works website you can’t find this information so I had to look elsewhere. They have a “It works Compensation Plan” button on the official It Works site, but they are missing the actual information. It’s just a bunch of legal jargon.

As you can see there are ranks of being an It Works Distributor:

Now this is just 2011. It’s now 4 years later so these numbers are likely higher (Im guessing) and the girl that posted this information from that blog stated that she actually made a lot more than $71 the first month.
Pretty cool, but they don’t’ tell you how many parities they had, how facebook friends they bothered or how much money they had to front the business to make that much money.
