After checking out the South Hill Designs business opportunity AND the drama with the South Hill Designs Lawsuit, I’m writing this blog article to get you caught up!
So Welcome to my South Hill Designs consultant review.
Let’s start out with the South Hill Designs Lawsuit since I’m sure that’s more of an interest to you (it was for me!).
South Hill Designs Lawsuit
Apparently Origami Owl filed a lawsuit against South Hill Designs for the floating locket charms that they are selling.
I searched the internet for a while and only found comments from both South Hill Design consultant and Origami Owl Consultants talking about the lawsuit.
Basically, what I gathered was that Origami Owl sued South Hill Designs for the selling of the “make it yourself” floating charm lockets.
There is a lot of discussion about how Bella had the idea of the floating locket charms before Origami Owl. Many comments were made in regards to the whole South Hill Designs Lawsuit being a joke.
In my search I actually found some discussion about a lawsuit against Origami Owl and how cheap and crappy their products were.
It was actually quite entertaining, but since this is a South Hill Designs Review, I want to stay focused on them.
If you’re interested on the Origami Owl Lawsuit, here’s the link I found for it: http://www.scribd.com/doc/238224999/Linx-Bracelet-v-Origami-Owl#scribd
Its about the Linx Bracelet vs. Origami Owl and of course several mentions of Origami Owl being cheats and liars.
South Hill Designs | Consultant Opportunity or Origami Owl?
If you’re trying to figure out which company is better, I did come across some complaints for both companies at pissedconsumer.com. Here are two screenshots of the two companies for you:
Here are the Origami Owl Complaints:
And Here are the South Hill Designs Complaints:
Why are people talking about Origami Owl and South Hills Designs?
Basically both companies sell floating charm lockets that you can create to match your own cause or personality. I’ll share the South Hill Design locket that I built in a moment.
Before I get into too much detail, I want to take a moment and talk to you about why joining South Hill Designs, Origami Owl or any mlm for that matter comes with risk.
Even if you do make money, will you be happy with your decision to build a downline that has a 90% chance of failing?
Although you may think you are a good leader, so do thousands of others who join mlms.
Case in point: Brad Campbell.
He was a top earner in network marketing (specifically Empower Network) and was making 20K a month. (yes…it’s not a typo)
Now you think that would be great right?
Ehh..not so much.
Take a moment and hear Brad out:
Now, if you listened to that whole thing, then great! I’m sure you’re probably digging the whole “no mlm” idea. If so, you can schedule a call now and find out if you’re a good fit for the program.

IF you’re still thinking about it…no biggie. You can check out the proof here: Job Killing Testimonials

You can continue with the South Hill Designs Review (which I totally don’t blame you because I promise it will be interesting).
OK..
So you’re still reading.
Here’s that review for you…
South Hill Designs Consultant Review – The Company
I have to say, I had a lot more fun than usual with researching this company because:
- #1. They have an awesome interactive website.
- #2. There is DRAMA with the whole lawsuit thing
- #3. Their photography is immaculate and I always enjoy beautiful photography
So. What about the company?
Website: http://www.southhilldesigns.com/
The interesting thing about his company is that it was actually founded by TWO men.
This is odd because South Hill Designs is a MLM Jewelry Company (kind of like Origami Owl, Touchstone Crystal, Sabika and I’m sure many more)
South Hill Designs was founded by Brain Palmer and Joe Ochoa. Both men were devoted to finding a way to stay home with their growing and female filled families. (Of course the wives helped, but the story on the website says the guys headed the idea)
They are committed to helping women entrepreneurs create a quality life from which they can stay home and their overall jive reminded me a lot of Mary Kay Consultants. (You know…stay at home, help other women and smile all the time)
The following broader branches exist in the company:
- South Hill Designs Canada
- South Hill Designs UK
- South Hill Designs Mexico
- South Hill Designs US
South Hill Designs – The Product

As already stated, the products are very similar to Origami Owl and others. The main difference I found is that South Hill Designs seems to be doing it better.
Why?
They have a super cool South Hill Designs Locket Builder which allows you to build your own locket so you know what it will look like before buying. (I’ll share mine momentarily)
The main bulk of the South Hill Designs Product consists of:
- Chains
- Screens
- Charms
- Lockets
- Unique Essential Oil Locket (I actually considered buying this because I love the idea of having a locket that carries your favorite scent on it. It has interchanging “scent pads” so you can change the inner color of the locket. Pretty cool idea.”
- Earrings
- Bracelets

South Hill Designs Locket Builder – My experience
The main product that the South Hill Designs Consultants will push is going to the floating locket charms.
Why?
They are easy to personalize and the more you get into it, the more the price of your purchase goes up.
I have to admit….even without me being at a home party, this was a lot of fun.
So if you do join South Hill Designs as a consultant, I recommend taking in some ipads or tablets so that people can build at the parities too. I guarantee you’ll sell more.
In addition, if you Join, you need some online skills to push traffic to this cool site. I’m serious, I almost bought something tonight and became an orphan South Hill Design customer…but I realized I needed to stay focuses on this blog and save my cash (esp. after reading the South Hill Designs Review)
Check out the progress of my floating charm locket that I built using the SouthHill Designs Locket Builder.
Step 1: Pick a Locket – I choose the Oval Locket because it can fit more charms.
Step 2: Pick a Screen – I absolutely love trees, so naturally…I had to go with this.
Step 3: Pick Charms – I decided to choose the birthstones of each member of my family. I never realized how pretty they were together! So I’m loving this!
Step 4: Pick the Chain – I then choose the South Hill Designs Chain that I though matched best.
Now…tell me that’s not cool.
What was even more entertaining is that the locket is animated and it moves as if you are actually touching it an adding things each time you add a chain, locket or charm.
Pretty cool technology so I am in love with this part of the South Hill Designs experience.
Then I took at look at the price:
It’s a little pricey at $108.00 but if the quality is there, I would buy it. Chances are that if I were at a party doing this and everyone around me was buying, I’d probably buy too. I love it. I created it. It has my story associated with it and it’s unique. That’s a good product. But it’s the quality I wonder about after seeing all the South Hill Design Reveiws.
South Hill Designs Compensation Plan
Things go a little more dicey as I tried to find out the information on the South Hill Designs Comp plan but once I did, it all began to look like all the other mlms.
I was able to find a photo of the basics of the South Hill Designs Comp Plan
But to be honest, I didn’t try to analyze because after you do so many mlm reviews, they are start to echo one another.
One exception here is that the South Hill Designs Consultants that sell the Make a Wish Charms are selling for a higher cause because 60% of that sale goes to Make a Wish. That’s a great charitable contribution and is the “carrot in front of the donkey” type of move that can open the door to more South Hill Design parities.
Basically, you get 40% from commissions.
Here’s what I found:
Earn 20% – 40% Commission on sales! The more you sell, the more you earn!
*Earn between 4% and 10% on team sales!
*Earn 10% on each enrollee’s first $1,000 retail!
*Earn 2% on your central team and 3% on three promoted out generations at the executive level!
*Earn Executive Lifestyle Bonuses from $250 – $750 / month!
*Reduced Monthly Maintenance Qualifications at every level!
*Strategic Placement Option
*Take 1 Vacation month every 12 months!
You build a team (or pyramid) and you begin to make money off of your downline sales as well. As you grow, you go up in rank and you earn more bonuses.
You may eventually become a mini celebrity, flaunted on stage and given some more cool bonuses.
Actually, if this is your goal, you should probably join South Hill Designs NOW because the company is new and now is the time to get on top that pyramid (just cross your fingers it doesn’t fall or get shut down like Vemma and scare the crap out of you)
South Hill Designs – The Starter Kits
The South Hill Design Consultant is referred to as a South Hill Artist. To become a South Hill Artist you have to:
- Buy a Starter Kit
- Study the Quick Start Guide
- Book Your First South Hill Designs Home Parties
- Encourage Others to Join South Hills (so you make more money…duh…)

In order to join the South Hill Design Consultant opportunity, you have to buy a Starter Kit.
Here are the kits:
- Social Essentials – $299
- Social Starter – $199
- Social Intro – $59
(Basically, you can get started for $59)
BUT you will also need to pay whatever the monthly for the website access is per month. Likely $10 to $20/month but I’m not sure. You will definitely want this. I was only able to find the cost on a South Hill Designs UK site, which was 9.95, So I’m guessing it’s about the same for South Hill Designs USA.
If you’re even more interested in what comes in the South Hill Designs Starter Kits, you can check out this Starter Kit Opening I found (gotta love these videos…):

South Hill Designs Consultant Review – Should I join?
I would be weary only because of what I have seen happen to Origami Owl. However, just because Origami Owl seems to be dying, doesn’t mean that South Hill Designs will follow suit.
I did check out the google trend report and found that both companies seem to be taking a bit of plummet right now.
But if Origami Owl is any indicator of the success to come, it looks like South Hill Designs should be able to push through as long as they learn from the mistakes that Origami Owl has already made (hint hint)
If there ever was a time to join South Hill Designs, I would say the time is now, but be ready to party. The products (virtually) are really cool and I absolutely love the South Hill Designs Locket Designer. I totally see the “products selling themselves”.
Now, if you’re asking me if I would join this opportunity?
The answer is no.
Why?
Because I found Job Killing.
I’d rather have a South Hill Designs Consultant pay me to get them South Hill Designs leads rather then have house parties and clutter my facebook with deal and sales because I want to make a sales goal to win a trinket prize. It’s just not in my blood to be a house party peep and I know the sad truth in mlm companies like this, no matter how good their product is.
Remember the video from Brad above?
Now might be a good time to check it out if you haven’t already.
I see success in Job Killing every day. Check out our most recent post in the New Year:
I see stuff like this ALL the time. Honestly, it’s amazing.
Dan and Brad are constantly adding to their bag of tricks and lessons to teach us and they are present 100% to help.
They are not like the clickbank webinars where you sign up for call and you think you’re going to be able to ask the clickbank peeps questions and all you get is a telemarketer response. (true story…I just tried it out this week to confirm)
Dan and Brad are both active and offer their millionaire mentoring daily along with lessons, calls and premade niche ideas and email marketing plans.
They are the REAL DEAL and they have helped complete newbies, like me, learn how to build massively superior websites and make thousands with them.
I know if you’ve read this far that you are interested.
I also know you haven’t found a similar program, because there isn’t.
Get on a call.
Let’s help make 2016 your breakthrough year whether you are already a South Hill Designs Consultant or you want to learn how to make money online, Job Killing Coaching will help you in a massively good way.
Find out if you’re a fit:
I truly hope to see you inside our group soon!
Make sure to tell Dan, Brad, Simon or Hal (the guys you’ll talk to…most likely Dan though) that Charissa sent you so you can hook up with me on the inside!
Peace!

Normally I don’t read articles about mlms on blogs, however
I wish to say that this write-up very forced me to take a look at and
do it! Your writing style has been amazed me.
Thanks, very great article.
No problem! Thanks for reading!
Origami Owl is not a copycat. South Hill Designs is.
I have no reply to that. I’m not into mlm for a variety of reasons. One is to definitely avoid silly comparisons, lawsuits and a scared downline because of FTC shut downs. It’s why I highly recommend Job Killing if you want to make money online.
I actually left Origami Owl for South Hill Designs because of the quality. I almost joined Jamberry but I think South Hill has a better product and one that will last longer.
Emery,
Thanks for the comment. I tend to agree with you. Jamberry Nails seems like more of a fad and you can clearly see the quality of the product when looking at the photographs. I’m a huge photo person so I’m naturally inclined to favor South Hill Designs.
South Hill Designs is a great company. I love the locket you built and I agree with you it is pricey but can see the value in having a tool like this. It is really unique to mlm companies and I’ve never seen anything like it.
I agree! I’m in love with the necklace builder app on their site. It’s tempting for sure!
I just recently heard of South Hill Designs and wondered about the whole lawsuit issue. This saves me time and gives me some good input. Thank you!
Thanks for the comment!
