Scentsy Review – I see Velata Progress!

The Scentsy network marketing company is one of the best mlm opportunities out there if you like their particular product and the home party niche.

Mlm is not a lazy man’s sport. Even that lazy blogger you find out there has to work everyday to make sure his blog is at the top of the mlm game.  You can eventually work less than what you may be working now, but make no mistake about it, online marketing and mlm businesses require commitment and persistence.

The Scentsy Business Opportunity

Scentsy  is a mlm company that has a product line filled with home scenting products similar to candles. Actually, they specialize in wickless candles and, of course, accessories.

Scentsy was started in 2004 by a married couple whose names are Oriville Thompson and Heidi Thompson.

As with many mlms, Scentsy started out small and gradually grew larger and larger with their product line. They did not originally go for the mlm lifestyle, however, they did eventually turn to the mlm opportunity program to reach new milestones and heights in regards to getting their product and branding “out there”.

Imagine the impact of thousands saying your name across the globe. Scentsy sees the impact that mlm can have on a business opportunity and they took full advantage of it and are winning in the business world because of it.

Scentsy now has Scentsy reps in many countries:

• Scentsy Mexico
• Scentsy Puerto Rico
• Scentsy US
• Scentsy Europe! (happening now!)

In addition, Scentsy had a baby!

Meaning, Scentsy Inc. has expanded outside of the wickless scented candle realm and entered the kitchen and party niche with their sister company Velata.

(I’ll write a Velata Review soon, there is a lot to discuss about the Velata business opportunity.  If you are a Velata consultant, you are automatically enrolled in the Scentsy program…if I read the Velata Comp Plan correctly.)

Scentsy has a warehouse and store and utilize family members and friends to help them package and manufacture the popular candle mlm product. Apparently in the beginning of the Scentsy revolution, there were some bumps in the road, however with time, persistence and dedication Scentsy has slowly grown and won some awards on their way to the top of the mlm world.  Currently, Scentsy has more than 1000 employees and well over 200,000 mlm consultants to help push their brand at a global level.

Wow.

Who knew that selling wax and wax warmers could be so popular?

You basically plug in the warmer, let the wax melt and whoola!  You have a nice smelling room, house, basement…etc.

I just bought something like this at WalMart and I love it.

It sucks that Walmart is competition for Scentsy, but it is and for that reason, I probably would not join as a Scentsy consultant.  Why would people pay more for something they can get cheaper (and it works) at Wally World?

Scentsy has soaps and many other items as well but the wickless “candles” are their staple product.  I did notice on their site that they are making really nice diffusers.

This is a great move by Scentsy because with Doterra and Young Living rocking the scent world and the health world right now, Scentsy can take a little piece of that pie.

From all of the essential oil diffusers that I’ve seen, the Scentsy ones are actually the nicest ones yet.

 

Scentsy Review | The Scentsy Compensation Plan

With Scentsy’s impressive growth, it is possible that a Scentsy associate or distributor is making a lot of money.  The first way to start making money with Scentsy, of course, is to join the company.

As with many mlms, you have to purchase a starter kit to promote the products and the mlm opportunity.  Scentsy Parities can be housed in the evenings or on the weekends and seen as social events so they can be started on a part time basis and not interfere with your current 9 to 5 job.

New Scentsy distributors received training in the Scentsy backoffice.  They are encouraged to attend online and offline team meetings and network with new and existing Scentsy reps.

As a new Scentsy sales consultant, one can learn a lot from their upline reps.  It is clear that the Scentsy culture has been purposively and intentionally created to be a positive one. Most mlms do this and Scentsy is no exception.

I did find one perturbed former Scentsy rep but I imagine there are more who lose money in the opportunity if they are not willing to become salesmen to their family and friends.

As with any business opportunity, the Scentsy opportunity requires consistent and focuses efforts.  You must talk about the opportunity in order to grow a downline and you must help them build if you expect to be rewarded financially to the level that you are creating true residual wealth.

 

 

Scentsy Review – The Scentsy Compensation Plan Ranks

If you are truly considering selling Scentsy Products, then you will need to know about the Scentsy Distributor Ranks that you will be trying to achieve.

 

• Essential Consultant: This is the first level of being a Scenty rep.  With this membership, you will make 20% commissions. You must generated a lot of volume in order to get to the next level in the comp plan.
• Certified Consultant: The second level is the Scensy Certified consultant.  You increase your commissions to 25% at this rank and you must sell a minimum of 2000 in retail volume in one month.  If you do that, you get 30%.
• Lead Consultant: The next Scenty Distributor rank is the Lead Consultant. You must have $500 of personal volume and $1000 from your downline sales.
• Star Consultant: As you gain momentum, you can come the  Star Consultant level in which you must make $500 PV, $150 in retail and you have to have 2 personally enrolled Scentsy distributors with a group volume of $2500.  There are also additional bonuses paid at this level as you continue to grow and develop a downline.
• Superstar Consultant: This Scentsy rank comes with a 7% raise or bonus and additional earned commission from your downline.  You must have $6000 in group sales, the $500 in Personal retail and your PV intact with 3 personally sponsored Scentsy Distributors. in order to be considered active.
• Director: The Scentsy Director rank requires a $10,000 volume and $2000 peronal volume along with $500 retail sales. Bonuses of course continue to build at this level
• Star Director: Scentsy Star Directors must have two personally sponsored Director legs in their downline and then can earn more than 25% in bonuses.
• Superstar Director: The Scentsy Superstar Director  needs four director legs and a group volume of over $80,000. This is the highest rank and the monetary amount is pretty low compared to other mlm companies to reach this level.
• 

Scentsy Review : Compensation Plan Structure

The Scentsy Comp Plan is made up of eight levels.  The first level is the Essential Consultant and goes up to the Superstar Director level. See the above for the specifics on each rank. As a beginner you will go in as an Essential consultant and you achieve 20% on your products sold.  Once you sell over $1000, you become a certified consultant and receive 25% commission.

In order to continue to make money with Scentsy, you must build a downline to get any sort of substantial income replacement from your 9 to 5 job.

Using a unilevel compensation plan, you can grow exponentially as you continue to grow in width on the Scentsy Comp Plan. You will be dependent upon the team you build below you in order to make money. Because of the unilevel comp plan, you will wait longer for generations to develop in order to receive any generational bonuses that are offered.

Remember patience is key to mlm success.

Scentsy, however, will not leave completely on your own. They have a training in the back office that helps you understand how to best sell their products as a Scentsy Distributor.  They do suggest that you learn all you can from your upline coach, however, if they are busy trying to make money, many sponsors rarely have time to do personally coaching sessions.

It is essential that you know how to build a site and drive traffic to you income opportunity.  If you don’t keep your eye on the goal and treat he Scentsy opportunity as a real business, you will just be losing money.
