Team National is multi level marketing company that is on the top 100 direct selling companies list. This is a bit surprising to me but before I get into that, here’s my buddy Brad who has a little somethin’ somethin’ to say about multi level marketing opportunities before I get started:
TEAM NATIONAL MLM REVIEW: The quirky Comp Plan and the Weird Web
It’s official. Team National is a weirdo of the mlm world. From looking over the Team National website to checking out the Team National Compensation plan, this is one of the “strange ones” of my mlm reviews.
Why?
Well, for one the Team National Compensation Plan is more like a Microsoft Word document that someone made up as a rough draft for the Team National Comp Plan. It almost seems unfinished and perhaps it’s due to the fact that it seems to just ramble on with side notes here and there.
I suppose one cannot be too surprised though because there is a warning at the top of their compensation program explanation that states it’s a “summary only”. It’s a 5 page summary.
Along with the strange and rather unfinished copy of the compensation plan that I was able to obtain, I found it rather odd to go to the Team National site which is: www.bign.com
Call me crazy, but I sort of expected the word team national to kind of be in their url. In addition, when you first click on their site, it’s very vague indeed.
Here’s what it looks like:
I suppose we could all look at it in aw and think how amazing it is because if forces you to click on one of three options. It forces an interaction with the viewer, but really I find it completely annoying that I can’t just find out what Team National is selling on the first page.
What happens when you click on the Team National Opportunity Page?
You get a couple videos.
I know. I know. I just want something that I scan!
Here’s what you can scan on the inside of the Team National Website:
“Mission Statement: We enrich families and businesses by providing vehicles for growth and everyday savings while unleashing the entrepreneurial spirit with honor, integrity and character. In 1999, total product, membership savings & service sales were approximately 8 million dollars. In just 5 years, the 2004 total product, membership savings & service sales reached $70 million dollars. 5 years later in 2009 total product, membership savings & service sales reached $181 million. In 2014, the company reached total product, service and membership sales of $399 million. As of January 2015, the number of IMDs increased to 417,942 along with hundreds of thousands of customers!”
Doesn’t tell you much now does it?
Isn’t that just annoying?
Ok…so to find out what Team National does I’m going to have to watch the videos. Now, again, this is either really smart and it’s a ploy to get more view time on their site (thus more strength supposedly) or it’s just a really lazy mlm.
Just for kicks I decided to take a look at how Team National is ranking with their site. They are one of the more prominent sites for their own keyword so that’s good, however, I couldn’t help but notice the BBB was also smack dab on the front page with their name on it. Of course, I took a sneak peek.
Team National (weirdo….once again) is one of the only mlms that I have encountered that is a member of the Better Business Bureau. Some people think that this is a good thing, but what you may not know is that the BBB is a paid membership. It’s really not that hard to become a member.
If you go through their complaints, you can find out more about their costs.
Apparently their lifetime membership costs around $3,000.00.
They have several bad reviews that talk about high pressure sales tactics or false misrepresentation. Check part of this complaint out:
“The TN host also mentioned that if I sign up immediately then I will be at the top of the business leg and I will benefit from the other IMDs (Independent Marketing Directors) that sign up later. Thus, I felt pressured to signup especially when the TN host knew that I’m unemployed and that I’m using my last savings. I had signed the contract on 10/29/14, and as of today, the TN host hasn’t signed up any new IMDs. I also felt pressured from my host to have my family and close friends sign up for the membership which is not my style. I did some further research on Team National and I discovered that there are numerous complaints/concerns about the company on the Ripoff Report.com website – http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/Team-national/nationwide/Team-national-pyramid-fort-lauderdale-florida-XXXXXXX. Overall, it doesn’t feel right and I don’t feel comfortable to be doing business with Team National. ”
The promise of getting a downline is exactly what I experienced with the BeachBody Coaching plan. My sponsor told me that she would put people in my downline and made it sound like I would be making money in no time.
Of course, like this Team National Scam, it wasn’t what happened.
Now…Team National really can’t be a scam if they are refunding monies to people, but it seems that for some people, they have to take it to a point of reporting it in order to make any headway.
That’s just bad business practice….and like their website and comp plan access….really annoying.
What’s in the Team National Videos?
The Team National video is the President and CEO of Team National, Angela Loehr Chrysler, who explains that Team National is a savings company that helps you save money off of normal everyday products and services that you purchase for yourself and your home.
The first image the flashes by when she says this is AT&T, and then it pans to a photo of couches and living room furniture.
I’m assuming this is very similar to the Direct Buy program where you pay for a membership and you get items at wholesale and discounted prices.
This is a good deal if you have a lot to buy all that time.
Team National is a member of the Direct Selling Association.
Ok. So the video is pretty good. It’s well done and I’m starting to think they made it so I was forced to spend more time on the sight.
You know the spiel. Spend some time with them, learn to like them, trust them, understand them and then buy from them.
Team National boasts that you can save on nearly everything from health insurance, office furniture, cell phones and cars. The list goes on and on.
Here’s the thing, if you have good negotiating skills, you can get these deal or better when dealing within these industries as well.
I had a discount for being a member of a teacher’s union and was able to negotiate a better deal than what the union savings was.
Although you may save money with the Team National Membership, you really would have to be buying stuff frequently in order to make up the fees you pay.
In my opinion, selling team national and the team national business opportunity to people seems more like you are selling those coupon booklets that the high school kids sell for fundraisers. Even with the 18% off discount for At&t, I have found a lot of times you can get these discounts without having to join a mlm company.
The Team National Compensation Plan (Summary)
I was only able to find the Team National Compensation Plan in summary form.
One of the main things that stands out in the first portion of the comp plan summary is that the TN plan specifically states that there is no financial benefit to sponsoring without retail sales. (It says there is no financial benefit to sponsoring alone).
The Team National Distributors are called Independent Marketing Director’s or (IMD’s). All commissions are paid weekly for the most part so that’s slightly exciting in comparison to other mlm company compensation plans.
In regards to timing on the commissions or when you can start making money after joining the Team National Business Opportunity, NO MONEY is made until your second sale as an IMD.
Here is the list of commissions that you earn for the memberships:
Premium Memberships sold at $2195 = $1000
Premium Memberships sold at $2195 on a credit card or electronic funds = $50
After looking at the rest of the commission structure of the membership levels, it is consistent that there is a 50% off charge from your commissions if the payment is made in any other way than straight up cash.
This isn’t exactly what I would call exciting. It’s actually discouraging and I can only imagine begging new Team National distributors to give me cash rather than using the main form of payment that most people use these days.
Knowing that most credit fees run from 3 to 5% per transaction, the fact that half of the commission is somewhat of a penalty is rather troubling.
As I continue to check out the Team National Compensation Plan and qualifications, in particular without visuals, the summary just ends up being short of clear.
Too many words and talks of points and computer images that I can’t see are talked about and wordage that talks of a bonus qualification which is entirely different from a Hosting Bonus Qualification.
There is a talk of fave and five or ten and ten paypoints but I struggled to find out exactly what a pay point was and how you would “bank” the points in order to get paid.
Rather than try to explain the points, I will just list the way in which you can make money with Team National:
- Commissions
- Regular Progression bonuses that pay out in groups of $1500
- Regular Progression Bonuses Paid on earn Presidential Pay Points
- Hosting Bonus
- Presidential Director Bonus
- Big N Marketplace – I was able to decipher this part of the pay. They stated that you would earn commissions every time there were purchases made from your own personal Big N Marketplace. The cost to have this website is $99 per year if you are a member. Apparently you can also purchase this site if you are a non member for $495 per year. You can earn up to 35% from the sales on this site and get paid after your commissions go over $15.00.
In order to receive any bonus pays, you have to be qualified. (normal among most mlms)
To be qualified for Team National Bonus you must:
- Make two retail membership sales (one on the left and right of the genealogy) PER YEAR.
To be qualified for the Hosting Bonus you must:
- At least one of the two persons you have personally hosted must be Bonus Qualified within a 12 month period.
To be qualified for the Presidential Director bonus:
- The exact same qualification as the Hosting Bonus
Without having access to the Team National Compensation Plan (of which I’m hoping there are visuals), it is difficult to even make a decision if Team National is something that you can “easily” make money with as a direct selling opportunity.
Should I Join the Team National Business Opportunity?
This really depends on what your intentions are and if you really hate negotiating prices. I can see where it would be beneficial to spend some money joining this “club” to save money if you were building a business and wanted access to some better discounts without having to negotiate the pricing yourself.
Even if the Team National Compensation Plan pans out being comparable to other mlms out there, do you really want to work underneath a company?
What if you could learn to make extra income from home without having to worry about working for a boss or under the restrictions of a network marketing company?
Why would you want to do this?
Have you ever thought about what would happen if you spend thousands in joining a mlm and a couple hundred on traffic and other opt ins only to find out that the FDA shut down the network marketing opportunity?
Did you ever hear of Wake Up Now or Vemma?
The people that joined Vemma now have nothing to bring in their income. The company is shut down. Point blank.
So what do those people do?
The best thing to do is to avoid a situation like this in the first place. Rather than joining a mlm and relying on getting paid through someone else’s product and payment program, it is much better to build your own business and create your own income streams.
Job Killing teachers you to do just that.
As a matter of a fact, you can create as many income streams as you want and the opportunities are limitless.
Right now, the competition in the local markets that you will be learning to work in, is low and out there for the taking.
People who are learning to take advantage of this unique opportunity will be the next millionaires out there.
I’ve already seen it happen in less than 9 months. Three of my friends in the Job Killing program are making upwards of $10,000 per month. PER MONTH. All just because we listened to our mlm millionaire mentors.
And that’s only the people that I personally talk to from time to time. With just over 1,000 people in the program right now, I see a large amount of success every day.
For example, just today, I saw that Greg and his wife get to turn in their resignation papers because they have reached a point where they are comfortable. I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I am to put this on my mlm reviews site to share with my readers.
If you’re looking for a way to make money online and have online skills but maybe need a kick in the butt to get things going OR you have never even worked online in your life, YOU can find success in the Job Killing Program like Greg, Abdul, Nicci, myself and so many have done.
Do yourself a favor and schedule a call and let’s talk about if you are the right fit for this amazing program!
If you do join, please hit me up on the inside. I’d love to watch you succeed!

Team National is tough to sell if you don’t understand network marketing. I would say a training program is a great suggestion. Kudos to this blog.
Thanks Dylan.
